So I'm having a hard time finding a way to differentiate the PCs (Possibility Rated) from Ords, particularly at the beginning of the campaign. I want there to be some explanation for why the PCs are able to create contradictions, use Possibilities, etc., without having to play through an individual Moment of Crisis for each one.
I thought about starting the PCs together when the invasion hits, in some sort of setting in which only heroic characters would be (not sure what this would be, though) or having something happen to the PCs at the time of invasion that distinguishes them from the rest of the population.
Any other thoughts?

im guessing from this post that all of your pc's will be starting out as core-earthers? cheers, mark. That was one idea. I kind of like the idea of playing through the initial days of the invasion, giving the players (since they are all new to Torg) a chance to learn the mechanics and history of the realms and invading realities. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to make sense that the PCs can use Possibilities and cards unless a) they are coincidentally special in some way or b) ALL core earthers are able to do so. I can almost see an argument for (b), given the immense amounts of Possibility Energy that CE has, but it seems a bit much and makes the PCs LESS heroic (i.e., less special). As I get closer to actually running, though, I am leaning away from the all-Core-Earth group, just because it loses a lot of what makes Torg fun, specifically, mixing and matching heroes of different genres in the party.
