Green finance is a global business trend; it refers to the use of financial services, such as loans, insurance, stocks and bonds, in green projects. At Expok we had the opportunity to interview Luisa Montes, an expert economist on the subject. Currently Luisa Montes is director of Ecovalores , a civil association dedicated to promoting socially responsible investment by companies, with the mission of contributing to the formation of a more sustainable and equitable economy. To reach this point, Montes dedicated AQB Directory himself to finance for many years, later he entered a master's degree in environmental economics, which provided him with the tools to develop economic instruments for environmental protection. Montes explains that before creating Ecovalores, he developed a project called Ecobanca with a partner, where they created the first “Green Funds” with Grupo Financiero Monex and that was how the idea of working with the Stock Exchange began, to finally create the sustainability index. . The implementation of this sustainability index was a very important advance, not only for Luisa Montes, but for the Stock Exchange and the listed companies, as it meant the reporting of information that until then had not been paid attention, at least not for financial terms. Currently, she confesses that she is more active in the area of banks and bonds. The financial sector is very important to us, and if the financial sector moves you towards sustainability or social responsibility, we are going to move there.” In the following video you will find the complete interview with Luisa Montes, a very responsible colleague. Find out what motivated her to continue down the path of green finance and how she found a way to combine two of her passions: economics and environmental protection. At Expok we celebrate the career of Luisa Montes and we are sure that we will continue to witness her achievements and accompany her on her path.
