Our third annual report on the fight for privacy is now available in English. After successfully establishing our team offices and processes in previous years, 2019 was the year we were able to really focus on our legal work and executing our strategy. By the end of the year our team in Vienna had expanded to include 2 employees from 10 countries and regions, responsible for more than 10 complaints and court cases as well as our home page and keeping our processes up to date. In January 2018, the European Court of Justice invalidated the Privacy Shield and ultimately changed the way data transfers are Email Marketing List handled in the future. We celebrated our biggest success yet. In addition we were slapped with a hefty fine based on our complaint. Like many others it has been a difficult year for us. We spent many months working from home and holding meetings remotely. Running a donation-funded NGO in difficult economic times is not easy as we rely heavily on donations from public funds supporting member institutions and pro-privacy companies.  We are even more grateful to our long-standing supporters and newly acquired supporters who have allowed us to continue our work in the aftermath of the 2019 crisis.
