Repost from D4's site:
OK. Which World Laws are worth keeping and which can/should be kept? Which World Laws should be reworked or dropped.
First: definitions: A World Law (in my opinion) is any element of a realm/cosm that affects the rules in a way specific to that cosm in an effort to establish the "feel" or character of said cosm. World Laws are distinct from axioms in that they are not limits to a particular item or action but instead establish a separate rule, modifier, or ability unique to their own realm. A character's World Laws travel with the character into other realms (except Pure zones, unless within a Reality Bubble) and their use always is a 1-case contradiction. Within a particular realm, any character may/must use the realm's World Laws, which is also a 1-case contradiction (in the case of World Laws that do not require a roll of the die, a single roll is made per use or per scene, as appropriate, for the purpose of checking for contradiction).
Perhaps this discussion should be broken into the cosm-specific threads, but I think there is also room for discussing World Laws on a meta-level. Thoughts?
